Potty...

Today Dane had the gate open so the kids could run free. We had all of the doors closed, but he decided to open the hall closet where the potty chairs are stored at for now. Kera went into the hall closet and tried to sit on her potty! So we took them out to the living room so they can have a month or so getting acquainted with their little potty chairs. I caught some pictures, horrible, I had to use the flash. But you get the point ;).

Kera thought it would be fun to stand in it!
I sure hope Drake doesn't do this when I am trying to potty train him! Now that would be disgusting!
And the potty heads... Drake and Kera thought it was hilarious! Daddy started it, and then I did it ;)

PB&J and reading

Drake and Kera love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Grape is their favorite. They are also into books... or should I say one book. We got the hooked on phonics for babies it was on clearance for $10 at the book store it's a pretty good kit. Anyways, there are several board books that come with it. One which includes The itsy bitsy spider. THEY LOVE THAT BOOK. They fight over it all the time. We have several other board books laying around, but the one that they get ALL THE TIME is that one! I have no clue what is so interesting, but something about it sparks their interest. Here is a few pictures from lunch time, and them reading The itsy bitsy spider.

The dog on a string...

Oh boy! They love this toy. Both of them. This is what Kera played with 99% of today. She will just walk a long with it... if it turns over so it is not walking with her, she'll stop and turn it back over. Well once Drake noticed what Kera was playing with, he had to go get it! Kera would run with the dog, and once the little dog on the string would tip over, she tried to hurry to turn him back over again. Too late, Drake was already there, grabbing at it. She would throw such a fit! I don't blame her though, any thing she plays with, he is right there trying to steal it away!

Here are a few pictures of them after lunch... and while Kera was walking the dog, and Drake stole it away.

LAY-ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Ok, so I know... I am slacking. BIG TIME! I don't want to miss a day of posting pictures ;) so I am going to post some MORE from Sunday! I am sorry I am slacking, I did not pick up my camera today. Although I should have taken pictures of the nice BIG surprise Drake left for mommy after nap time!!! D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G! He had his diaper full of poo thrown on the floor along with his pants he had on. Chunks of poo ALL OVER the crib... smeared ALLLLLLLLLLLLL OVER his sheet, smeared ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OVER his face, body, mainly legs! He was standing up in his crib naked, and he thought it was the funniest thing ever that mommy was gagging and covering up her nose with her night gown! YUKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEE. Thank goodness Dane is an AMAZING husband, and he cleaned it up for me. If I had to do that, I think I would have PUKED everywhere! Seriously, I was gagging just giving him a bath!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GROSS!

Alright on to the pictures, but not of that, because I didn't take any... lucky for the viewers of this blog!

I love this little red boat ;) so does Drake
She is so petite ;)
Long eye lashes
feeling the sand
Love his little profile (his itty bitty nose) So cute!

Sand box fun continued...

Here are a couple more pictures from yesterday.

Drake taking more steps. He walked all the way from the sand table to the gate! It was like 15 steps in a row. I am so proud!

Kera try to eat sand...

And Kera carrying the lantern when mommy said "NO" before... as soon as I turned my back, she headed to the table to get the lantern.

Sand box fun!

Today was a really good day. I got to sleep in while daddy made me breakfast in bed. Huge pancakes.. YUM! Then after our family nap and lunch we went to the library. When we got home from the library we let the kids play with their sand/water table. They are still unsure about the sand. However, they get a kick out of the water. They love splashing, and Kera loves to drink the water (she does this with her bath water as well). I'll probably post some more pictures from today tomorrow, because I took over 500 pictures, and I like a lot of them! I was too lazy to edit any of them.

Fun w/ Grandma & PeePaw

Today we went to visit Grandma and PeePaw. Drake and Kera had fun playing with PeePaw in the spray hose. Grandma made us all spaghetti and the kids had pudding for dessert. Their first time with pudding. They loved it! I should have got pictures of them eating it, and then shaking PeePaws hand afterward (with pudding still on their hands). YUM.

CLEAN...Clean...clean...

That's all we are doing this weekend. We dropped the kids off for a couple of hours at the grandparents house so we could go to Dane's job and clean his office. I took before and after photos. When we first got there, I thought to myself there is no way we can get done with this tonight!!! But we got busy, and we got everything knocked out except for half of a box of shredding... I did half of it. It looks way better! Now after this blog we have to clean our whole house because we got a showing tomorrow AM! So I am making this quick ;).

Blue eyed beauties...

To this day I still can not believe that I have TWO blue eyed children. I would think their eyes would have changed by now if they were going to change. They are almost 15 months old. Both Dane and I have brown eyes... and here we are with two kids with blue eyes. Sometimes when people stop us in the store, they say "wow they have gorgeous eyes"... then they look up at us, and I feel like they are thinking "Well they definitely didn't get them from you" Haha. That is right... they got them from their Grandpa Ken, and Grandma Vicki. The odds were 25% chance for each child. Crazy.

As with all pictures on here, you can click to make them larger.

This one is a cute picture of my little Drake. For some reason I have been calling him "bubba" a lot lately!
Here is Kera... she LOVES stuffed animals lately! She got almost all of them off of their play box storage unit, and brought them into the living room. Her favorite are these two... the bunny we got her for Easter, and the dog we got Drake before they were born.
Last but not least... Drake trying to open the front door!!! He keeps pulling out the door stopper in the play room, and he shuts the door, and then they both start screaming bloody murder. I try to get in, I put the stopper back, only for him to do it again. I think I got the stopper underneath the door better, hopefully it doesn't happen again.

My camera stays :)

So today I didn't play with my camera, because I didn't want to cry about loosing it. Dane and I had the discussion of selling my camera, but we decided I can keep it. Which I am ecstatic about. I LOVE my camera!! I am VERY excited about my 365 day project and to see how far advanced I can get with photography and editing.

I am going to post a few pictures from yesterday.

Here is the dinner I made last night. It is one of my favorites. Although a little too sweet since I double the sauce (Dane loves the sauce). It is served over brown rice... YUM.
Here is the recipe http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/simple-sweet-n-sour-91440.aspx I think we will not be doubling the sauce anymore. I also use fresh red, green, and yellow bell peppers, and also a fresh onion (1/2 of a small onion).

Our family loves guitars... well everyone but me ;). I love listening to them, I just can't play one. Drake plays with daddy a lot. Here is Kera playing with her "guitar".

I love these pictures of Drake. He is too cute, even with his mouth full of cheerios!

So my journey continues with my Canon Xsi :). I am so happy!

About Me

My name is Melissa Schilling. I am married to my wonderful husband Dane who I have been with for 10 years. We have toddler twin babies Drake and Kera. I started this blog in hopes to one day be a photographer. As for right now my husband and I are using photography as a hobby we can do together. We are starting the 365 day project August 1, 2009. I can't wait to start to learn more and more about my camera. I look forward to any feedback. I will be mostly focusing on people subjects, because that is what I am interested in. However there may be a few other types of photography in the mix.

Thanks for looking at my photo blog, please follow me if you are interested in seeing all of my work, and where this takes me in the future.
